A resident on Ramapo Way reported a motor vehicle burglary. The resident saw a male inside his vehicle who fled the area in another vehicle. The incident occurred at approximately 5:45am. Under investigation.

At approximately 7:20am a resident on Country Club Lane started both of their vehicles to warm them up. They came outside 10 minutes later and both vehicles were gone. It was determined that a silver SUV had been driving the area and two black males exited that vehicle and stole both of victim’s vehicles. The vehicles stolen were a 2018 black Nissan Rogue and a 2016 white Nissan Rogue which were both entered stolen. At approximately 9:50hrs Ptlm. Kyle Savoia saw the black Nissan on Terrill Rd. and attempted to stop the vehicle. The vehicle fled and a pursuit was initiated. The vehicle was pursued onto Rt. 78 eastbound where the vehicle attempted to get off at exit 48 but lost control and struck a curb disabling the vehicle on Rt. 24 in Springfield. Numerous police departments were on scene and three suspects inside the vehicle were taken into custody without incident. The driver identified as Darnell Hunter-Perello Age. 20 of 614 Field Ave. Plainfield NJ was charged with eluding police with a motor vehicle, theft and possession of prescription drugs. A passenger identified as Yasmeer R. Oates Age. 18 of 350 Frederick St. Plainfield NJ was charged with theft. A juvenile female was taken into protective custody and turned over to her guardian. All were transported to headquarters and processed. No injuries were reported.

A resident on Myrtle Ave. reported an illegal dumping. Under investigation.

Timothy Parker Age. 54 of 849 E. Front St. Plainfield NJ was arrested on an active warrant out of Westfield NJ during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Ptlm. Gerard Rites. Transported to headquarters and processed.

A resident on Raritan Rd. reported the theft of a flag from the front of their house. Under investigation.

A resident on Farmingdale Rd. reported two males were seen in her driveway near her vehicle. The suspects fled the area in another vehicle when the resident’s dogs started barking. Under investigation.

At approximately 5:45am Ptlm. Ryan Cruz located a recently stolen motor vehicle out of Fanwood travelling North on Park Ave. He attempted to stop the vehicle which fled and a pursuit was initiated. The vehicle a grey 2020 Cadillac CT4 fled on Rt. 78 eastbound and the pursuit was terminated in the area of exit 45 in Newark. The vehicle was equipped with On-Star and Newark Police Department was able to locate the vehicle taking two suspects into custody. The detective bureau is following up with the investigation.

Derrick St-Vil Age. 32 of 1227 E. Front St. Plainfield NJ was arrested on active warrants out of Scotch Plains, Roselle Park and Mountainside NJ during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Ptlm. Zack VonLangen. Transported to headquarters and processed.

Ptlm. Andrew Gitto attempted to stop a blue 2015 Dodge Dart for a motor vehicle violation on Rahway Rd. The vehicle accelerated in an attempt to elude him, lost control and crashed into a vehicle backing out of a driveway on Lenape Way. The driver later identified as Randell S. Williamson Age. 33 of 62 Royal Dr. Piscataway NJ fled the scene on the crash on foot. Numerous officers from multiple agencies responded and a perimeter was set up. The Union County Sheriff’s Department responded with a k9 and the suspect was found hiding in a tree line on Raritan Rd. He was taken into custody without incident. The resident struck was identified as a 44 year old female Scotch Plains resident who complained of pain in her right shoulder, hip and back and an ambulance was dispatched to assist her. The suspect was transported to headquarters for processing He was charged with driving under the influence, aggravated assault, criminal mischief and resisting arrest. He was transported to the Union County Jail.

A resident on Country Club Ln. started their 2016 Honda Accord to let it warm up. The victim exited their apartment and saw their vehicle driving out of the complex. A witness dialed 911 and followed the vehicle into Plainfield while updating dispatch as to the vehicles location. The vehicle ultimately got away. The witness stated he saw another red vehicle in the complex that appeared to be with the stolen Honda. Officers were able to locate an unoccupied red Nissan Altima in the complex which had been reported stolen out of Plainfield. Under investigation.

Ptlm. Dominick Luciano responded to a home on Dutch Ln. on a report of a fire. Upon arrival the Scotch Plains Fire Department had determined a fire started in the first floor bathroom ceiling and they were able to extinguish the fire. The home sustained minor damage.

Kiyan C. Cagle Age. 20 of 605 Huntington Ave. Plainfield NJ was arrested for possession of marijuana. Also arrested was Elijah R. Clark Age. 33 of 254 South Clinton Ave. East Orange NJ for possession of marijuana. Both arrests were the result of a motor vehicle stop conducted by Ptlm. Javier Maldonado. Transported to headquarters and processed.
